Community Renewal: Lifting Neighbourhoods Together is a 5-year project which is developing and delivering radical new methods of lifting two deprived neighbourhoods out of poverty.
Developed by Community Renewal Trust, the project is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and is currently underway in Bingham, Magdalene and the Hays (Edinburgh) and Walker (Newcastle).
Community Renewal Trust has commissioned the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR), at Sheffield Hallam University and Sonnet Advisory and Impact to evaluate Community Renewal: Lifting Neighbourhoods Together throughout its delivery.
This initial study sets out the baseline for the project including descriptions of the neighbourhoods in which we are working, an overview of the methods and changes we intend to implement and how we plan to assess their effectiveness.
